The International Business Chamber of Commerce (IBCOC World) is a non-profit 501(c)(6) organization located in Princeton, New Jersey. Seema M. Singh Esq., the President of the newly founded IBCOC World invites everyone “to join our journey of Global Success.” She stated that “IBCOC meets the timely needs of Globalization. It provides a Dynamic Connection to Businesses all across the Globe and promotes Growth and Prosperity through Networking, Education, Partnerships and Alliances.”

IBCOC World was founded to meet the challenges of a changing Global Economic Landscape and to create Unity in Diversity across the Globe. In his Book “The Earth is Flat” Thomas Friedman, provided a timely and essential update on Globalization. Just like this Flattening of the globe has connected diverse countries, communities, people, governments and businesses, the “IBCOC World will provide the essential platform to solidify these connections across the globe through Networking, Education, Strategic Partnerships and Alliances between its Diverse and Broad Based Membership both Domestically and Internationally throughout the Globe” stated President Seema Singh

The Launch event was also attended by the IBCOC Board of Directors from across the globe including India, London and Dubai. Also present were Consuls and their representatives from Australia, Switzerland, India, and other Asian Countries. A representative from the World Bank also attended to establish the relevant connections with IBCOC members. The event was attended by over 100 companies including sectors such as the Financial, Banking, Shipping, Money Transmission, IT, TV, Legal and many others.

The evening started with a cocktail and networking reception followed by an Introduction of the Mission of IBCOC and its Board of Directors. The Launch facilitated partnerships with Diverse countries and their governments.

The “Indian Consul General Prabhu Dayal commended Seema Singh for taking an invaluable initiative for setting up the International Business Chamber of Commerce and expressed confidence that the Chamber would help promote economic and commercial relations between India and the US. Expressing his happiness at such a large turn-out of prominent businessmen at the function, he said that this was a clear indication of the trust which they had reposed in Seema Singh’s ability to bring them together under one umbrella and enable them to utilize their collective experience and efforts for realizing the full potential of Indo-US trade and investment. He hoped that the new Chamber would work closely with the Indian Consulate and promised full support in this regard”.

Congressman Rush Holt added “In our increasingly interconnected world, we need groups like the International Business Chamber of Commerce to help businesses cultivate productive international relationships that facilitate entrepreneurship and job creation here at home. I look forward to working with the International Business Chamber of Commerce to help ensure that the small- and medium-sized businesses and manufacturers of Central New Jersey have the tools they need to succeed in the global economy.”

Congressman Frank Pallone (NJ-06) appreciated “the Indian-American community’s dedication to making a difference and staying engaged on global issues that affect the US-India relationship.” He further added that “I was glad to attend the launch of the International Business Chamber of Commerce and commend the organization for promoting its goals through education. I look forward to contributing to the goals of the organization and working together to promote the US-India partnership in the future.”

This meet & greet was designed to engage a small group of business owners in a conversation about the issues and challenges that face Asian Businesses across the state, and to relay that information to the Lt. Governor. The majority of the business-owner-attendees belonged to the hotel industry, finance and money transmission, and international trade and shipping. Several key issues discussed included, lack of efficient procedures for the inspection and warehousing of goods imported from India to NJ; the hotel/motel occupancy tax; millionaires tax and lack of long and short term financing and the idea of bond financing.

The Lt. Governor was keen on understanding each issue mentioned during the meeting, and assured everyone that, “Governor Christie and I are working everyday to make New Jersey a home for growth. Hearing from small business owners, like the members of the IBCOC, is an important part of making that happen.”

In summary, board members of IBCOC utilized this opportunity to share their respective concerns with the Lt. Governor who was eager to listen to the real issues that face New Jersey businesses, and was open to tangible suggestions as well. This was a successful meeting, and the start of a working relationship between IBCOC and the State of New Jersey.

Many Dignitaries from the Swiss Consulate and the Swiss Government were in attendance to Meet and Greet with the Members of IBCOC. Among the Dignitaries the Consulate General of Switzerland, Ambassador Francois Barros; Trade Commissioner Daniel Bangser; Deputy Consul General of Switzerland Nadine Olivieri Lozano; International Trade Specialist Barbara Banas; European American Chamber of Commerce – Yvonne Rothschild; Eurobridge – Christian Kalweit; and several key business groups from Switzerland Freeholders graced this occasion.

This Meet and Greet Event was organized by the Consul General of Switzerland who graciously hosted a Cocktail Reception to Meet and Greet the IBCOC members; to showcase opportunities available in Switzerland; to provide networking with key members of the Swiss consulate and to provide assistance to IBCOC in organizing its upcoming Delegation to Switzerland. The event was an exclusive event geared to enhancing a relationship with Switzerland and to also explore interconnections for IBCOC members in Switzerland and possibly a chapter of IBCOC in Switzerland.

The evening started with a cocktail and networking reception followed by an Introduction of the Mission of IBCOC and its Board of Directors and then a brief overview by Ambassador Barros and a detailed highlight by Daniel Bangser of all opportunities available in Switzerland. The Launch facilitated a partnership between IBCOC and the Swiss Consulate.

The Consul General of Switzerland Ambassador Francois Barras commended President Seema Singh for establishing this bridge between the Swiss Consul and the IBCOC Members. He was very gracious and offered any assistance to the IBCOC for its upcoming Delegation. He also stated his doors were always open to facilitate synergies between IBCOC and the Swiss Consulate.

Nadine Olivieri the Deputy Consul General of Switzerland added that she was very excited about IBCOC’s visit to Switzerland and was always available to provide any kind of assistance.

Daniel Bangser the Trade Commissioner of Switzerland stated “I am glad we had an opportunity to meet the members of the International Business Chamber of Commerce. In bringing together these business professionals with U.S. and Swiss service providers, we hope that we generated some sparks which will soon translate into new business partnerships between your companies and those based in our country.”

The Swiss Consulate provided the IBCOC Members with a lot of informational packets about the opportunities available in Switzerland.

The International Business Chamber of Commerce announced today that it will be sponsoring a USA-Dubai-India trade mission. The trade mission would include conferences and meetings with several of Dubai and India’s leading corporations and heads of state.
